Jersey City, NJ, – Educate The Block will be hosting a “Speed Networking” job fair event at NJCU’s Business Development Incubator, located at 285 West Side avenue in Jersey City. The event will be held February 17th from 1 to 4 PM. Employers will have the opportunity to meet qualified and motivated candidates for brief one on one interviews. There will also be the chance to network other local business leaders and information on grants that will help cover the cost of hiring new employers.
The event will be structured in the popular “speed dating” format. Each employer will have the chance to meet with every student for a sixty second interview, and then may conduct a longer session with students that fit their business’ needs.
Educate The Block is a hands on career education center, offering free classes for qualifying adults. Available classes include Hospitality Industry training, Media Production and Focused Job Search. Students plan and implement projects under professional conditions.
The event is being hosted by the Hospitality Class, who will be decorating the space and arranging the catering. The Hospitality Class has hosted several successful events in the past, including a wedding reception for twenty-five guests.
Educate The Block’s media program will also be represented. “Hypothetical Dilemma”, a short film created by media students, will premiere at the Union City International film festival this month. The class has also recently created a promotional video for NJCU.
