HACKENSACK CHALLENGERS BLAST MAYOR WITH POP-UP ADS ON BERGEN RECORD WEBSITE

By Eric Dixon

A Hackensack city council slate has unleashed a pop-up advertisement blasting incumbent mayor John Labrosse on the website northjersey.com. That site is the digital media channel for the newspaper The Record of Hackensack, which was recently bought by the Gannett Corporation.

The ad, which links to the anti-Labrosse website http://www.mayorlabrosse.com, hits the incumbent with detailed narrative on a variety of issues. The ad pops up when visitors to the northjersey.com hit on that site’s main, or initial landing, page.

The ad is paid for by the opposition ticket Hackensack United for Progress.

Hackensack’s municipal election is scheduled for Tuesday, May 9th.
