Hudson County Democratic Organization endorses Hillary for Prez

“For us, along with Chairman John Curry — we are endorsing for the line,
Hillary Clinton for the next President of the United States,” says Speaker Vinny Prieto (D-32) at a press conference held Monday evening in Jersey City at the Hudson County Courthouse.

They are always protecting the most vulnerable in this very diverse county in this very diverse state… and they try to be very progressive.

“And try and do all the right things and make the quality of life for all the residents better,’ Preto says. “With somebody like that in the white house will only help us.”

Both candidates on the presidential front are saying they are going to take it all the way to the convention, which means New Jersey will have a voice.

“Then you have republican candidates, particularly the frontrunner Donald Trump talking about the fact that he thinks he could make blue states competitive, which is a challenge that we look forward to,” says Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop.

“It’s important for us in this blue state and the bluest county of all to come out strong and have our candidates drag the national candidates in with them,” says County Executive Tom DeGise.

“It’s a very mayor dominated situation with all the mayors agreeing on the candidates and Vinny Preto showing phenomenal leadership,” says Mayor Nicholas Sacco.  “I’m just really happy to be here today and support where we’re going as a party.”

You’ve got people like Congressman Sires whose always there for the community.

“And the sheriff of course, outstanding law enforcement — and he has proven himself time and time again,” West New York Mayor Felix Roque says.

“We’re very fortunate to have the speaker of the general assembly also as our chairman, so it works out very well,” Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner says.

“And Vinny Preto’s done a wonderful job in terms of brining this community together and all the towns together,” says Guttenberg Mayor Gerald Drasheff.

“It’s nice to have unity across Hudson County.”

I am sorry but I do not stand with your establishment endorsement. Like our current president who has actually began some sort of change in our political system we need a leader to continue it not stagnate it. I am for Bernie Sanders for the next president of the United States a democracy not an oligarchy!!!!!

I’ve lived in Hudson county for 25 of my 31 years on this Earth, only leaving for college. I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve had a true interest in a presidential outcome, and I’m saddened that my community would align itself against its own interests. Bernie is and has always been the candidate for immigrants and supporting the middle class. In his state of VT immigrants can get licenses to allow them to get to their jobs! Si quieren cambio, votemos por Bernie Sanders, por favor.

I also do not approve of this endorsement. When you say that your vote for the Iraq war was a mistake as if the consequences have not been catastrophic, you do not have my vote to lead this country. I will not vote for someone that will lead our youth (mostly from low income families) into more war on behalf of corporate interests. Billions if not trillions of misspent money on wars that should be spent on infrastructure, affordable higher education, our environment, etc. That is why I’m supporting Bernie Sanders for prez!
