Hudson County Sheriff “extremely saddened by the terrible news” of Sheriff Officer Suicide

“All of us at the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office are extremely saddened by the terrible news of Sheriff’s Officer Alex Ferrer passing. Alex served in our Court Division and SWAT Team, and had been a member of our department for the past 4 years. We offer our deepest condolences and our heartfelt sympathy to his family and loved ones.” Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari said in a written statement.

According to a report on NJ.com, on Monday June 27th a little after midnight, Sheriff Officer Alex Ferrer (41-years-old) was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his apartment in West New York.

Previously, Mr Ferrer was suspended without pay after he was charged with DWI when his Jeep crashed into a Bayonne Bar on May 14, last month.
