Jersey City Sikh Community will be Providing 15,000 meals to 75 homeless Shelters during Thanksgiving

The Sikh temple Nanak Naam Jahaj Gurudwara in Jersey City organizes “Let’s Share A Meal,” a volunteer-run program that feeds the hungry. The temple was inspired to begin this program by the concepts of equality taught in their religion, which urges that it’s believers humbly sit on the floor together and share a meal. “Let’s Share a Meal,” has been successfully feeding the homeless in the tri-state area for 5 years. They prepare and package the meals in their Temple’s cafeteria and then distribute it to homeless shelters in the community.
