Jersey City man with over 200 counts of EZ Pass toll evasion arrested

At about 3 p.m. on 4/26/2016  Port Authority Police Officer Tom  Grel  noticed a Black Mercedes  Benz sedan with no front plate or inspection sticker  go thru toll lane 3 of the Holland Tunnel. The EZ Pass reader indicated “toll unpaid.”  Officer Grel pulled the Mercedes over. Upon further investigation the driver’s operator’s license  was suspended in New jersey and had over 200 counts of EZ Pass toll evasion amounting to over $12,000.00 in unpaid tolls and fees.. The auto was impounded. The suspect is due back in CJP court in Jersey City  on May 3rd,2016. 

Arrested: Mr. Oscar Sanchez-45, Wales Ave. Jersey City, NJ

Charges: Theft of Service, Operate while suspended, No front Plate.
