Kearny Police is looking for help to capture bank robbery suspect

The Kearny Police Department, in collaboration with the FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Jersey State Police, are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the suspect in a bank robbery at Wells Fargo Bank.

At approximately 12:50 PM on Friday, June 24th 2016, a man walked into the Wells Fargo Bank located at 175 Passaic Avenue in the Town of Kearny and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller handed the suspect approximately $1,500 at which point he fled the bank.

The suspect is described as a light skinned male, approximately 5’06”-5’08”, with a scruffy beard (light in color, possibly blonde/red) tied with a rubber band at the bottom. He was wearing a dark-colored skull cap, black sunglasses, a light blue t-shirt over black long sleeve undershirt, and blue jeans.
