NORTH BERGEN, NJ — Speaking at a press conference today announcing Palisades Medical Center becoming a full member of the Hackensack University Health Network, North Bergen Mayor and State Senator Nick Sacco praised the merger as an outstanding development for the township and its residents. Now known as HackensackUMC Palisades, the hospital will continue as an acute care facility serving North Hudson and southern Bergen counties and will now have full access to the acclaimed medical services and treatment options available to patients at HackensackUMC facilities.
“This is an excellent addition to North Bergen and I am very proud to be able to say that I served as Mayor when it happened,” said Mayor Sacco, who was joined at the press event by HackensackUHN President Robert C. Garrett, HackensackUMC Palisades President Bruce J. Markowitz and many other key officials. “Palisades Medical Center has long been a valuable partner to our community and it is a tremendous development for our residents for it to now become a part of one of the leading health care networks in New Jersey. I look forward to many more years of success for this institution and could not be happier to see it take this important step.”
