Port Authority Police Stop Suicidal Teen from Jumping Off George Washington Bridge

At 10: 30 this morning George Washington Bridge Upper Level South Walk Port Authority Police Officer Theresa Jeffrey spotted a teen crying. The officer approached the 17 year old. The teen turned towards the railing and scaled the divider stating words to the effect that she wanted to die.

Officer Jeffery tackled the teen. Sgt Michael Barry arrived and helped get the teen to an ambulance. PO Jeffery was not injured. The 17 year old from Pennsylvania was removed to Holy Name hospital in Teaneck . Her auto was recovered in Manhattan.
