Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that seniors can learn how to avoid fraud and scams at a seminar that will take place on Wednesday, October 5, at 12:30 p.m., at the 4th Street Senior Center. This informative presentation will cover how to deal with bogus lotteries, phony IRS agents, wiring money, and contractor fraud. Mayor Davis said, “As a former police officer, I am very concerned about protecting our senior residents. We do not want anyone to be victimized by confidence tricksters, telephone scammers, or any other fraudulent actors. This seminar will give our residents the information they need to resist fraud and protect their assets.”
This free event is brought to you by Mayor Davis, the Bayonne Office Aging, the Bayonne Police Department, and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs-Hudson County.
The seminar will include a question-and-answer session.
The 4th Street Senior Center is located at 16 West 4th Street, next to St. Andrew’s Church.
