Six people arrested last night in a massive brawl in Hoboken


At approximately 0130 in the morning, officers were posted outside of Greenrock Tap and Grill, located at 70 Hudson Street, awaiting a large crowd to disperse from the area. As the patrons were exiting the establishment, a verbal dispute erupted on the outside. Police headquarters was advised of the situation and additional units responded to assist. The verbal argument escalated into a large physical altercation. Due to the overwhelming amount of people engaged in the fight, mutual aid was requested. Officers from the Port Authority Police Department, Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, Secaucus Police Department, Steven’s Campus Police Department and New Jersey Transit Police Department responded to assist. While dispersing the crowd, officers approached a male victim, who stated that he was struck with a glass bottle. He had a laceration to his face and was experiencing blurred vision. Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corp (134) arrived on the scene and transported the victim to Hoboken University Medical Center for treatment. An employee at the scene was also checked by the ambulance personnel for a small contusion to his head. However, he signed a refusal form for any further treatment. PO Cuevas was also transported to the hospital, where he was treated for an injury he suffered to his left thumb.

Travis Rivera, Age: 24, Hoboken, New Jersey
Hector Solano, Age: 27, Hoboken, New Jersey
Moses Sanchez, Age: 25, Hoboken, New Jersey
Robert Goodwin, Age: 28, Hoboken, New Jersey
Dariel Aybar, Age: 25, West New York, New Jersey
Joel Ortiz, Age: 21, West New York, New Jersey

Officers Involved: PO Michael Losurdo, PO Michael Aviles, PO Roberto Cuevas, PO Ricky Truppner, PO Luke Zeszotarski, PO Sam Williams and Sgt. Jonathan Butler

Charges: Aggravated Assault, Riot: Failure to Disperse and Disorderly Conduct

Goodwin, Aybar and Ortiz were also processed and charged with outstanding warrants from different municipalities. All involved were issued summonses and released.
