The Women in White Shed Light on Cuba in WNY

A press conference was held today, September 28th in West New York, with The Women in White, a Cuban, female-led group of political activists who march for Cuba’s freedom. These brave women undergo beatings, arrests, and other abuse by the Cuban government in order to fight for their people’s rights. The Women in White also give back to their community, they receive money and goods from Cubans abroad, and use these goods to disperse knowledge and fulfill the needs of the Cuban people. Their ultimate goal is for Cuba to be free and although they are peaceful, they will continue marching in white and spreading hope and knowledge at their own risk for their people’s freedom.
