The city of Bayonne picked the Sunday following St. Patrick’s Day to hold their annual parade. Although the temperatures were chilly, and there was a warning of snow, the turnout was nothing short of impressive.
Bayonne has a large Irish population, and the city takes this event very seriously. This year’s celebration was lead by Grand Marshal Michael Boyle, a lifetime Bayonne resident.
The parade had a substantial amount of participants, including elected officials, police, scouts, unions, and schools.
“Every year I look forward to this,” said Bayonne resident Jeffery Spencer, and he did not seem to be alone. Several people mentioned they attended the parade annually, and it was always a great affair.
