Two Homicides reported the same day in different locations of Jersey City

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez released two homicides that occurred in different locations of Jersey City the same day.

The first one was reported on February 7, 2016, at approximately 10:31 A.M., Jersey City Police were dispatched to 64A Lexington Avenue on a report of an unresponsive elderly female, later identified as Lucila Cardenas-Viejo, age 81.

Upon arrival, police found the victim on the floor of her living room with multiple blunt and sharp force injuries to her body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 10:53 A.M.

No arrests have been made in connection with the homicide.

 



In addition, the 2nd homicide was reported the same day, at approximately 8:10 P.M., Jersey City Police were dispatched to the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Oak Street in Jersey City on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police found the victim, Christopher Jackson-Terry, age 24, in the front seat of a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wound(s) to the upper part of his body. The victim was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 8:43 P.M.

No arrests have been made in connection with this homicide as well. The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
