On Thursday evening, Harrison Police responded to a report of a robbery at gun point on FER Boulevard and Harrison Avenue.
According to the victims, David Flores of Kearny and Ramaya Sri of Harrison, they were walking south on FER and Sussex Street when a white car, traveling south on Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard pulled up along side of them and stopped.
Two black males exited from the back seat of the car and approached while pointing handguns in their direction.
The men ordered the victims to turn over all their belongings.
Flores handed over his HTC Boost Mobile cellular phone, his wallet and ID card, and $17.
Ramaya gave the men her purse with a wallet, house keys, NY IT College ID card and Bank of America ATM card.
The 23-year-old also says that during the robbery one of the men noticed she was trying to hide her cell phone and he tried to rip it out of her hands.
During the struggle the driver yelled out, ”We need to leave — the cops are coming down the block” and quickly jumped in the car, with the vehicle speeding away west on Sussex Street.
Ramaya was able to provide a partial plate number.
A computer system check revealed an armed robbery reported by Union City Police Department that appeared similar to this incident. That vehicle was a white Mazda 3S, with Connecticut registration occupied by two black males who exited the vehicle and robbed two men at gun point.
All Harrison Police Units checked the area for possible suspects with negative results.
Suspect #1 black male, mid 20’s, armed with a black handgun.
Suspect #2; black male, armed with a black handgun.
An attempted robbery occurred in Harrison a few minutes prior to yesterday’s incident in the area of FER Boulevard and Bergen Street.
The suspects, handgun and vehicle matched the victim’s description of the men above.
