Weehawken Celebrates Baseball Season

Hundreds of Weehawken children and their families gathered on April 17th, in the Weehawken baseball field, for their opening day ceremony. In the city of Weehawken baseball is more than a sport, it is a community event that unifies its people.

Baseball gives the children an outlet that they enjoy and share with their families.  Weehawken’s large demand for baseball and softball teams, have led to an extensive program that has expanded over the years.

The city helps fund the baseball and softball programs, but the community’s involvement also leads to a lot of fundraisers.

The recreational baseball and softball teams also serve to prepare the children who want to continue playing in high school.

The children of Weehawken love baseball and look forward to having fun this upcoming season.
