Weehawken: Winter Blizzard Update

WEEHAWKEN – Mayor Richard F. Turner and Weehawken Township Council released a Winter Blizzard Update this evening.

Both the State and Weehawken have declared a state of Emergency and residents are strongly encouraged to remain indoors during blizzard conditions. It is critical that all streets remain open for emergency vehicles. Certain streets have been designated as Emergency snow removal streets, no parking signs are in effect for the remainder of the storm. Vehicles that are double parked on streets and/or blocking roads, intersections or fire hydrants, will be towed at the owners expense.

All recreation has been cancelled for Monday evening and Tuesday. The public library will be closed Monday evening and Tuesday. Garbage should be placed out on your next regularly scheduled garbage night and not Tuesday morning.

If a power outage occurs, please remember to report it immediately to Weehawken Police at (201) 863-7800.
