West New York Man arrested and charged after allegedly beating dog with golf club



According to West New York Police, a 47-year-old Robert Anthony from West New York was arrested  and charged with animal cruelty and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose.

On April 24th West New York Police got a report of a dog bite, when officers arrived , they met with the caller and found a small laceration in his right hand. Moments later, Police found a dog named “Elvis” laying in the floor with a bloody nose.

Mr Anthony allegedly said that after the dog attack him, he hit the dog with a golf club.
The dog is a 2-year-old Jack Terrier, was taken to Oradell Animal Hospital treated with bruises and bloody nose. The dog will survive.
