West New York, NJ. – January 22, 2016. – The West New York Police Department investigated three separate incidents leading to the arrest of four males.
A report was made to the Police Department on January 11th, 2016, regarding a break in and burglary on the 400th block of 65th Street over the weekend prior. The WNYPD obtained video footage and ran analysis of the crime scene recovering finger prints concluding to the arrest of two male suspects on the 15th of January. Kurt Guzman, 35, and Kirby Ruiz, 34, mutually of Union City, were charged with burglary and theft. Guzman was held on violation of court order out of Jersey City, as well as, Ruiz on a violation out of Union City. Both parties taken to Hudson County Jail in Kearny.
Another burglary occurred at 12:20AM on January 14th on the 400th block of 51th Street. An unknown party attempted to gain entry of ground floor apartment by a side window. The suspect was then startled by the resident and fled the scene. WNYPD Detectives canvased the area and retrieved surveillance video footage which positively identified the suspect. A 24 year old man, Darwin Basora, of West New York was arrested and charged with attempted burglary. Party was taken to Hudson County Jain in Kearny.
A third burglary occurred between the hours of 4-4:20PM of January 16th on Westover Place. Suspect approached the victim’s home claiming to be a Gas & Electric Company worker. The party proceeded to force his way into the residence and inspected each room of the home. The victim voiced she did not want him in her home and asked him to leave. While in the apartment, the suspect made inappropriate
sexual comments and gestures towards the victim. The victim’s sister entered the home and the suspect fled the scene. A detailed description of the suspect was distributed to all units immediately after the report was issued. On January 19th, the WNYPD spotted a person fitting the description of the suspect regarding the investigation. At that time, the suspect became combative and was placed under arrest. Following further analysis, the man was clearly identified as Rafael Beltre, 28, of Bayonne. Beltre was charged with burglary, loudness, aggravated sexual contact, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. Party was then sent to Hudson County Jail in Kearny.
