I wish to update you on the current situation with the most current information available. As of this afternoon, we have a total of 10 residents who have tested positive for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). As more tests are being conducted, it is expected that this number will continue to rise over the next few weeks. Our thoughts are with these residents and their families during this difficult time.

Our Health Official has been hard at work to monitor these cases as well as any new cases that may develop. We ask that you continue to make every effort to follow recommendations from the Center for Disease Control through the practice of social distancing, washing your hands, and, most importantly, staying home.

I remind all residents that through the Proclamation of Local Emergency signed on March 1611′, there is a town wide curfew between the hours of 10:00PM and 5:00AM. Through a number of Executive Orders, Governor Murphy has ordered the closure of schools, as well as a number of non-essential services, until further notice. The Town will continue to provide updates as information becomes available and ask for your ongoing patience throughout this unprecedented time.

Although Town Hall may be restricted to public access, we remain staffed and ready to assist via phone (201-868-2315) or e-mail. Guttenberg is an extremely strong and enduring community. Together we can, and will, get through this pandemic.
Wishing you and your families well. Thank you for your cooperation.
Very truly yours,

Mayor
WAYNE D. ZITT, JR. MAYOR
