$27k Raised for Weehawken First Aid Squad
The day could not have been more perfect. Great weather. A fabulous golf course, Black Bear in Sussex County, and a tremendous fundraiser for a vital organization in Weehawken; the Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad. Last week’s event drew some 60 golfers and sponsors, raising $27,000 for the Squad, which responded to 2,200 calls last year.
The money raised from the golf outing, the 18th annual, will be used to provide free, pre-hospital emergency medical calls and the replenishment of important supplies.
The First Aid Squad is always looking for more personnel. If you are interested, visit the Squad’s website at www.wvfas,org. Training is six months long.
