26,000 Turkeys Being Distributed to 4 Towns by Brian P. Stack Civic Association Amazes Gov. Murphy

Hundreds of volunteers gathered at 6 am on Saturday at the Union City Police Garage, as the Brian P. Stack Civic Association continued its annual, Thanksgiving turkey distribution. This year, more than 26,000 turkeys from Jaindl Farms in Pennsylvania are being given to residents in Union City, Jersey City, Weehawken and Hoboken.

It’s a tradition the Mayor started way back when he was just 14 years old. That year, he gave out 20 chickens for the holiday, and the start of his civic mindedness begsn.

On Saturday, Governor Phil Murphy wanted to see the operation for himself. Needless to say, he was quite impressed.

Hudson TV reporter Jeff Henig reported Live on Facebook and has all the details.
