Christopher Geier (33) of Hawthorne NJ has been charged with criminal sexual contact, prosecutor said in a press release.
On Thursday, February 23, 2017, members of the Mahwah Police Department and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit received information that a 14-year-old male was inappropriately touched by Christopher Geier on February 06, 2017 in Mahwah, New Jersey.
On Friday, February 24, 2017, members of Mahwah Police Department and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit contacted Christopher Geier regarding the allegations made against him. On that date, Geier arrived at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office located in Paramus, New Jersey, at which time he was interviewed by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Special Victim Unit and Mahwah Police Department.
Subsequent to the interview, Christopher Geier was arrested without incident. Geier was then transported to the Mahwah Police Department for arrest processing where he was charged with one count of Criminal Sexual Contact, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b, a 3rd degree crime, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a, a 4th degree crime. Geier was lodged in the Bergen County Jail pending his arraignment.
Prosecutor Grewal states these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Mahwah Department for their assistance in this investigation.
