7-Year-Old Boy’s Death in Fort Lee Ruled as Tragic Accident
Fort Lee, NJ – A recent incident involving the death of a 7-year-old boy at a residential apartment complex on Anderson Avenue has been ruled as a tragic accident, according to a joint statement by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Fort Lee Police Department.
On the evening of September 13, 2023, at around 5:29 p.m., Fort Lee Police received a distressing 911 call about a young boy who had tragically fallen from an upper-floor window of the apartment complex. The child was immediately rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The investigation into the circumstances of the boy’s death was spearheaded by the Major Crimes Unit of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, led by Chief Jason Love, in collaboration with the Fort Lee Police Department, under the leadership of Chief Matthew Hintze.
Both departments have concluded that there was no criminal activity associated with the boy’s unfortunate demise. The authorities have expressed their profound condolences to the grieving family, friends, and the entire Fort Lee community during this difficult time.
