Jersey City, NJ – The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are urgently seeking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision. The incident occurred on Friday, October 20, 2023, around 6:45 p.m.
Responding officers found the victim, later identified as 85-year-old Mumtaz Chaudhry of Jersey City, in the area of Fairmount Avenue and Summit Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was struck by a light-colored Toyota Sienna. Photos of the suspected vehicle have been released to aid in the identification.
