Photo Google Maps The City of Hoboken will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, February 15, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom to discuss plans for short-term improvements to the former Monarch site, acquired in 2021 for the purposes of a public park.
The proposed short-term improvements aim to increase pedestrian and bicyclist access, safety, and security of the property and allow for members of the community to immediately access the site while the City begins the public planning process for the park’s final design later this year.
These short-term improvements include installing a walkway on the west side of the site along Shipyard Lane between Frank Sinatra Drive and 15th Street to connect the existing waterfront walkway, removing the former fenced-in trash storage area, upgrading site fencing, and general debris removal and cleanup of the existing gravel surface.
