For thirty years Union City has been holding a winter coat drive.

Residents may drop off new, or gently used, coats, hats, socks, gloves and scarfs in the lobbies of Union City public schools. The month-long drive, which began on Monday, has already benefited the victims of a fire on 7th Street.

In just four days since the drive began, 60 coats have been donated at the Edison School alone.  Last year, approximately 600 items were donated by the public.

The drive runs through December 29th.  Collection boxes are located in the lobbies of each public school in Union City.  Donated items are accepted during normal school hours.
