Bayonne, NJ – The city is gearing up for its seventh annual “Paddle the Peninsula” event, scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This family-friendly kayak event invites residents to enjoy the scenic waters of Newark Bay in a series of guided paddles.
The event will feature three distinct paddling sessions:

Paddle #1 will commence at Rutkowski Park, heading south towards DiDomenico – 16th Street Park, expected to last about 45 minutes.

Paddle #2 starts at DiDomenico-16th Street Park, moving south towards the iconic Bayonne Bridge before returning, with an estimated duration of 40 minutes.

Paddle #3 will be a 45-minute loop near the 16th Street Kayak Launch, located on Newark Bay.
Participants must be at least 12 years old, with those between 12 and 17 required to be accompanied by an adult for safety. The event is free, but registration is mandatory to ensure adequate equipment. Participants can either bring their own kayaks or use those provided, though inflatable kayaks are not allowed.
