Man’s Body Found Floating In Hackensack River Underneath Pulaski Skyway

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office says the body of a man found floating beneath the Pulaski Skyway in the Hackensack River in Jersey City has been identified as a resident of Monmouth County.

According to Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the man’s death.  His body was discovered on Tuesday afternoon, January 28, 2025 shortly before 4:30.

According to a press release from the Prosecutor, “the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a body floating underneath the Pulaski Skyway. Responding officers located a male — later identified as Bryan Linington, 49, of Cliffwood — floating in the water. He was removed from the water by the Jersey City Fire Department and was pronounced dead at approximately 7:30 p.m.”

Authorities add that at this stage of the investigation, the death does not appear to be suspicious. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this matter.
