According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit have filed an additional charge of murder against an East Orange man following the deaths of two males in Guttenberg last year.
40-year old Lamont Cole was previously charged with murder in connection to the death of 87-year old, Guttenberg resident Justo Bory. A post-mortem examination report issued by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office on February 24, 2025, determined that 58-year old Ricardo Bory of Guttenberg died of homicidal violence and the manner of death was homicide. Suarez says Cole now faces two counts of murder.
A press release from the Prosecutor’s Office states, “On Saturday, November 23, 2024, shortly after 10 p.m., the Guttenberg Police Department was notified of two unresponsive males inside a residence at 209 71st Street. The males – later identified as Justo Bory and Ricardo Bory – were pronounced dead at the scene. During the initial response, the Guttenberg Police Department arrested Cole for interfering with the investigation. Cole has been detained at the Hudson County Correctional Facility since the arrest. Cole was charged with Murder relating to Justo Bory on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, after the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the Cause of Death to be Compression of the Neck and the Manner to be Homicide.”
The above charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
