Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reports that the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of a 91-year-old man in Jersey City.
According to Suarez, on Monday, June 9, 2025,the Jersey City Police Department conducted a welfare check of an individual living at 2554 Kennedy Boulevard. When officers arrived, they located a male – later identified as 91-year old An Quan of Jersey City – in medical distress. He was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center for treatment, where he was pronounced dead on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
A press release from the Prosecutor’s Office says the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office conducted a post-mortem examination on Monday, June 16, 2025, and determined the cause of death to be complications associated with blunt force injuries. The manner of death has been listed as homicide. The Homicide Unit was notified of the Regional Medical Examiner’s report and has assumed control of the investigation.
No arrests have been made at this time.
