The Hoboken Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying persons of interest in a recent incident involving the dangerous and illegal operation of motorcycles on Hoboken streets.
According to a press release from the city, “On August 25, 2025, at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers observed three motorcycles enter Hoboken via the 14th Street Viaduct and turn south onto Willow Avenue. None of the individuals on the bikes were wearing helmets and all failed to obey traffic signals.”

The three vehicles were later observed on Washington Street where they eluded several attempts by officers to stop them. Police say they continued traveling throughout the city ignoring red lights and stop signs. Two of the motorcycles fled Hoboken via the 14th Street Viaduct, eventually making their way into Jersey City and one, which had two people on board, exited over the Park Avenue Bridge into Weehawken.
The HPD’s Detective Bureau Street Crimes Unit continues to investigate and asks anyone with information or surveillance video from the involved locations on the night of August 25, between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., to contact Det. Sgt. William Collins at (201) 420-2100, extension 3152, or email CollinsW@hobokenpdnj.gov.
Once identified, those involved face numerous motor vehicle violations, and criminal charges of eluding.
