WNY Holds Police Promotion and Swearing In Ceremony

The West New York Middle School auditorium was filled with police officers, residents and family members on Wednesday night for the Police Department’s promotion and swearing in ceremony.

A total of nine officers received promotions, while seven recruits, all of whom are West New York residents, took their first time, oaths of office.

Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant were:
*Yousef H. Awadallah
*Julian D. Porras Ortegon
*Daniel Leon
*Aida E. Miranda
*Nedal Saadeh
*Robert D. Cirri – son of late PAPD LT Robert Cirri Sr. who tragically passed on 9-11.

Promoted to the rank of Sergeant were:
*Orli Benitez Jr.
*Christian A. Ramos
*Matthew S. Dragone

The new recruits who were sworn in were:

*Michael Medero – age 28

*Mohammad I. Abusiyam – age 24

*Jaiden M. Corbett – age 22 – was a WNYPD DISPATCHER

*Giovanni Munoz – age 27

*Keity Y. Abreu-Amadiz – age 26 – was a WNYPD DISPATCHER

*Bradley J. Manso – age 20 – began with the WNY Youth Police Academy, later transitioned into the Law Enforcement Explorer Program, was the Memorial High School BOE Student Representative, also worked Weehawken and WNY EMS.

*Lenny Munguía – age 21

In a statement, the Police Department said, “These promotions represent years of hard work, experience, and commitment to the job. Stepping into a new rank is a significant milestone and comes with greater responsibility to lead, mentor, and serve the community. For our new officers, this marks the beginning of a career built on dedication and public service.”
