The Performing Arts Academy at West New York’s Memorial High School wrapped up another year of acting instruction with Friday night’s staging of “Random Acts of Comedy,” three, one act performances all directed by the students themselves.
A total of 60 students were involved, each at different levels of learning; levels one, two or three.
The levels allow the students to master their abilities over time under the pressures of a limited time frame. That’s the ultimate goal. Learn and absorb as much as possible in an educational setting that requires dedication and commitment, fast and furious.
Each of the three, one acts, “The Day The Internet Died,” “The Terrifying Truth About Cat Hair,” and “No Substitutes” were described by acting teacher Beth Baur as hilarious and great fun. It was certainly an opportunity for the audience to have a good time and for the students to display creativity while enhancing their acting craft.
