The West New York Board of Education’s summer B.E.A.M. program at School #4 is teaching both children and their parents English skills, plus the history of the United States.
Approximately 125 students who came to the United States from a foreign country are gaining valuable instruction this summer with their English through the Bilingual Emergency Assistance Module, aka, B.E.A.M. program. The participating students in this volunteer program are in elementary grades through the 11th grade.
Students are improving their English skills through reading, writing, arts and song. And they are learning about American history to boot, being that this is the 250th birthday of our nation.
The B.E.A.M. program will run through the end of July.
