25 years after the September 11th terrorist attacks, West New York joined with municipalities nationwide in holding remembrance ceremonies and uniting together in the hope that no Americans will ever forget the tragic events of that fateful day.
Both West New York Mayor Albio Sires and Police Director Henry Codina stressed that we need to teach youngsters in school about 9-11, something they feel is lacking at the present time.
The event took place with the Manhattan skyline as its backdrop. To this day, seeing lower Manhattan without the twin towers rising high toward the sky still seems odd.
Friday’s ceremony in Donnelly Park along Boulevard East attracted approximately 30 residents.
