57-year-old Antonio Figueroa of Jersey City has been arrested for allegedly stealing from a Hoboken Church donation box.
According to Hoboken PD, Officers Lehbrink and Montalvo were dispatched yesterday’s afternoon to the area of 4th Hudson St on a report of someone calling for help. The officers arrived and spoke with the victim about a male entering the church and taking money from the collection box using what appeared to be a wire hanger. A description was given to all officers. Several uniformed officers along with Detectives were able to stop a male fitting the description in the area of 2nd Washington Street.
After investigating further, it was determined that the male was the person who took the money. He was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. He was found to have an outstanding warrant from the Jersey City and was also wanted for an outstanding Warrant out of our Investigative Bureau issued by Det. Edward Lepre for similar charges.
Mr. Figueroa was charged with Burglary, Theft, Burglary Tools, Bail Jumping
