BAYONNE, NJ, April 16 — A 60 year-old man was targeted in an attempted robbery while walking down Broadway near 11th Street, last Saturday.

The police later identified the perpetrator as Terrell A. Corpening, 22, who reportedly lunged at the old man in attempts to rob his wallet from his shirt chest pocket.

During the struggle, the victim was pushed to the ground as Corpening also tried to remove the victim’s phone from his hand. Unable to complete his conquest, Corpening fled the scene.

According to Lt. Eric Amato, officers were able to track down Corpening and found him standing in front of QuickChek (260 Broadway) approximately 20 minutes after the victim reported the incident to the police.

The victim positively identified Corpening as the actor of the robbery. Corpening was later taken into custody.
