Bayonne Board of Education Hires New Supervisor of Athletics

Bayonne Superintendent of Schools John Niesz has announced the hiring of Daniel George as the District’s new Supervisor of Athletics.  George replaces Vice Principal of Athletics, Dr. Michael Pierson.  Pierson will assume the role of principal in one of Bayonne’s schools.

In a letter to the Bayonne school community, Superintendent Niesz stated that prior to coming to Bayonne, George was Officer of Student Affairs at Long Branch High School.  He is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he majored in accounting and captained the University’s wrestling team team his final two years.

George has Master’s Degrees from Monmouth University in education and administration.

Mr. George’s Long Branch High School football, wrestling and track teams won 16 division titles, 9 team state championships and had 4 individual state champions.  As a result, George earned Coach of the Year honors 22 times.

He is in four, coaching Hall of Fames.
