Tonight the City of Bayonne is holding a workshop to discuss the proposed new municipal Master Plan in City Council Chambers, 630 Avenue C, at 7:00 p.m.

According to Mayor Jimmy Davis, the workshop will provide residents an important opportunity to offer their comments on Bayonne’s goals for the next decade.

Master Plans set goals for development, preservation, transportation, recreation and other aspects of the community’s future.

The last time Bayonne adopted a Master Plan was in the year 2000. The principal purpose of a Master Plan re-examination is to produce modifications in an existing zoning ordinance, in order to reflect updated priorities. Bayonne’s current zoning ordinance was adopted in 2002.

To check out the draft report Plan, go to the left-hand side of the homepage of the municipal website, and click on “City of Bayonne Master Plan.”

Printed copies of the Master Plan draft are available from Land Use Administrator Lillian Glazewski in the Planning and Zoning Division, Room 13 at City Hall.

The proposed Master Plan was drafted by DMR Architects following a series of meetings and consultations in Bayonne since 2015.
