Bayonne, NJ – In a significant operation, Bayonne Police apprehended Rubin L. Jackson, a 47-year-old Jersey City resident, on multiple charges including drug possession and unlawful weapon possession.

The incident occurred on November 27, 2023, at approximately 12:32 PM. Bayonne Police were dispatched to the area of 32nd Street and Avenue C following reports of a suspicious male in an apartment building. Upon arrival, officers encountered Jackson exiting an alleyway adjacent to the building.

During the investigation, Jackson was unable to provide a valid reason for his presence in the building and appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicant. A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of cocaine, a pill bottle containing 70 pills of a controlled prescription drug, a shank-type tool/blade, and narcotic paraphernalia.

Further complicating matters, Jackson initially provided false information to the police. His true identity revealed two outstanding warrants – one from Bayonne and another from the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office.

Jackson now faces a slew of charges including hindering apprehension, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of CDS (Cocaine), possession of CDS (Prescription), intent to distribute cocaine, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts of Bayonne Police in addressing public safety concerns and tackling drug-related offenses in the community.
