Fighters, Patriots, Heroes.

Those are some of the words that were tossed around Friday night in Bayonne to honor Veterans in the community.

The Bayonne Community Museum hosted the annual Veterans Day event, which featured the artwork of Korean military veteran Anthony Sienkiewicz.

A Bayonne native, Sienkiewicz says he started painting after retiring in 2000.

He says his collection helps draw attention to veterans and the sacrifices they make on behalf of the red white and blue.
Veterans say another thing people often forget is that the holiday is not just for the men and women who fought on the battlefield.

The city’s mayor says honoring veterans from all walks of life is the least we can do to thank them for serving our country.
But Davis says veterans do much more than just protect our lives and liberty –they are role models as well.
