Blizzard Watch! Are you prepared?

A blizzard watch in effect for New York City eastward for Monday night and Tuesday, and a winter storm watch is in effect for northern New Jersey for the same period, as sustained winds may reach 35 miles per hour and gusts of higher force, and snowfall can total between 12, 18 and 24 inches.

The current National Weather Service forecast calls for snow to begin across the region Monday evening and intensifying overnight into Tuesday with the bulk of snowfall durning the daytime Tuesday.

The watches have been issued a full 48 hours before snow is anticipated to begin.
