**THIS STORY CONTAINS NEW INFORMATION Veolia Water has issued a boil water advisory for the City of Hoboken due to a12-inch water main break at the corner of Garden and Newark Streets. The break has been isolated, and repairs are underway this evening.
Because water pressure is low, the boil water advisory was issued.
Veolia says once the repairs have been completed, and water service has been completely restored, residents are advised to boil water before drinking.
A second water main break occurred several hours after the first. That one was located at Garden and Ninth Streets on an 8-inch main.
Residents and businesses can obtain water at Monroe Gardens on Jackson Street, Fox Hill Gardens on 13th Street, as well as at the Multi-Service Center on First Street until 10 o’clock this evening while supplies last.
Veolia will notify Hoboken once the boil water advisory has been lifted. Boil for at least one minute, then allow the water to cool before drinking, washing, cooking, making ice cubes or brushing teeth.
