Burglarized Coast Guard Auxiliary leads to arrest of Secaucus man

He gained access to the building through a window in the wee morning hours and made off with some liquor from the Coast Guard Auxiliary on Meadowlands Parkway.

When Secaucus Police helped process the scene back on March 24, they identified the burglar as Christopher Collins.

According to Captain Dennis Miller, the boos were the only thing missing because the Coast Guard Auxiliary does not possess weapons, so no weapons or munitions are stored in their building.

Yesterday, Collins was taken into custody without incidence at his residence.

The 28-year-old was found in possession of a quantity of suspected heroin and marijuana.

Evidence from the burglary was also recovered at the time of his arrest.

Collins is charged with burglary, theft of moveable property and two counts of possession of CDS.

The Secaucus resident was taken to the Hudson County Jail pending his appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.

Anyone with additional information pertaining to Collins or this burglary can contact the Secaucus Police Detective Division at 201-330-2052 or detectivedivsion@secaucus.net.
All calls are kept confidential.
