Union City, NJ–On December 28th, 2014, after a man notified police of a burglary in progress at 803 Sip Street, Christian Chirino, 36, was found by two police offers in the garage, sweating profusely.  He dropped to the ground when the demand was given at gun-point.

A search revealed that Chirino was in possession of burglary tools and drug paraphernalia.  In addition, he had a screw driver, large kitchen knife, scissors and a metal push rod commonly used to smoke crack cocaine.

Chirino was lead to an officer’s marked police car, but he refused to fully sit in the car and intentionally banged his head on a partition and kicked the car door and window.  As a result, Chirino sustained a small laceration on his forehead.

Upon arriving at headquarters, Chirino stated that he would kill himself before going back to jail.  The officers then requested an ambulance to check his laceration.

After transporting Charino to Hoboken Medical Center, he told the officers that he would not be going back to county jail and a police officer would be using his gun today.

Chirino remained at the hospital under police guard.  Criminal complaints against him for burglary, criminal mischief, burglary tools and possession of drug paraphernalia were signed.
