Mayor Jimmy Davis announced the City of Bayonne’s schedule for the Christmas holiday period.
Civilian offices at City Hall in Bayonne will be closed for Christmas Eve (observed) on Friday, December 23, and for Christmas Day (observed) on Monday, December 26. The holidays will be observed on those days, because Christmas Eve falls this year on a Saturday, and Christmas Day this year falls on a Sunday. Civilian offices at City Hall are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
On Friday, December 23, regular garbage pick-ups will take place on every street except Broadway. On Saturday, December 24, regular garbage pick-ups will take place on Broadway only. There are no garbage pick-ups scheduled on Sunday, December 25. On Monday, December 26, regular garbage pick-ups will take place on every street except Broadway.
On-street parking meters, street-sweeping, alternate side of the street parking, and residential parking permit regulations will be suspended on Friday, December 23, Saturday, December 24, and Monday, December 26. Residential parking permit regulations are not in effect on Saturdays, and will not be enforced on Saturday, December 24. Meters, sweeping, alternate side parking, and parking permit rules will not be in effect on December 25, because that is a Sunday. Those regulations are not enforced on Sundays.
Free parking for non-commercial vehicles in municipal lots will remain in effect in December and through Monday, January 2. Paid parking for non-commercial vehicles in municipal lots will be back in effect on Tuesday, January 3.
The Bayonne Free Public Library will be closed Friday, December 23, through Monday, December 26.
