The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Task Force has arrested three people following an investigation surrounding a narcotics distribution operation in Jersey City. According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, more than 900 grams of cocaine, four pounds of marijuana, various other narcotics, and two handguns were recovered.
The following arrests and charges have been made:
47-year old Jamaal George of Newark has been charged with:
• Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana) within 1,000 Feet of a School; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (methamphetamine) within 1,000 Feet of a School; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (psilocybin) within 1,000 Feet of a School; two counts of Possession (methamphetamine); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (methamphetamine); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (psilocybin); Possession of a Weapon While Committing a CDS Offense; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun); Certain Persons Not to Possess a Weapon; Possession (cocaine); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine); and Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) Within 1,000 Feet of a School.
41-year old Katrina Bullock of Jersey City is charged with:
• Possession (cocaine); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (psilocybin) Within 1,000 Feet of a School; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana) within 1,000 Feet of a School; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) Within 1,000 Feet of a School; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun); Possession (marijuana); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine); Possession (psilocybin); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (psilocybin); Possession (methamphetamine); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (methamphetamine); and Possession with the Intent to Distribute (methamphetamine).
According to the Prosecutor, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Gangs Task Force executed a court-authorized search warrant at King George Clothing and Accessory Store located at 426 Ocean Avenue in Jersey City after they received information that narcotics were allegedly being sold within the business. Various suspected narcotics and a firearm were found within the storefront. A third individual, a 35-year old Jersey City woman, who was inside the store at the time of the search was charged with Possession (marijuana) and released on a summons.
Prosecutor Suarez says additional charges have been filed against Jamaal George in Essex County after a second handgun and narcotics were recovered during court-authorized searches in Newark.
The Prosecutor credited the Gang Task Force with the investigations and arrests, with assistance by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Newark Police Department, and Hudson County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit. The above charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
