Union City’s Performing Arts Center hosted a dance showcase on Thursday night featuring students from Union City High School and the Jose Marti STEM Academy.
Approximately 30 students participated in the showcase. All of the dance routines were choreographed and produced by the students, as was the lighting and the printing of programs.

The event has become an annual tradition for the Union City Board of Education. Some of the students have been taking dance lessons since they were young children, others in the two companies did not start until entering high school.

During their preparations for the showcase, the students had the opportunity to hear from past alumni and professional choreographers, who gave them encouragement and tips for creating their own dance routines.
All in all, it was a wonderful evening for everyone who participated on the dance floor and for those attended the event, whether parents or members of the general public.
