Driver hits two girls in North Bergen Friday night, North Bergen PD says non-life threatening injuries

Two juvenile pedestrians were hit by a car Friday night in North Bergen at  21st Street and Kennedy Boulevard.

The driver was coming from Union City and making a left onto Kennedy Boulevard when he hit the female children, 13 and 8-years-old.

The girls were crossing the street from Union City to the North Bergen side.

According to Lt. Cruz from the North Bergen Police Department, they had non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Jersey City Medical Center as a precaution, where their parents met them.

“The male driver immediately stopped and took responsibility, as well as gave a statement,” Cruz says.

He was not arrested or detained because it was considered an accident— nothing criminal, added Cruz.

Union City Police Department was first on scene and North Bergen took over and filed a report because it was in their jurisdiction.

This is an ongoing investigation and we will post more information as it becomes available.

  1. They were struck only inches to the left of the Union City border, which is the double yellow painted line down Kennedy Boulevard. This almost was a “Driver hits two girls in Union City” headline.
